So here's an interesting photo. I bought a vintage Trixie Belden book - the Gatehouse Mystery - off eBay a few years ago. It is an older version, (pre-Whitman version) with an actual dust jacket and HB bound. Tucked in the pages, in the middle of the book, was this photograph. Nothing written on the back. However, on the inside cover is neatly written "Ellen Hennessy, Box 46, Gillberts, Illinois - and the date August 1952 (the book is copyright 1951, first edition.) There is something evocative about the photo (and I love her saddle shoes!).... does anyone out there recognize her, or the place?
